The New Monarchies

Since you have all read the last reading, what monarchy are you so surprised with? Is it Spain and its Inquisition? Is it England and the War of the Roses? Is it France that developed nationalism during the Hundred Years' War? Was it the HRE and its inabilities?

a lot of times the obvious we ignore since it seems less. Rwanda in the 1990's was largely ignored because it did not seem too bad....

I believe this is the western world view that has dominated since the 1500's

I'm not suprised by any of it. Spain has always been extreme and so has France and England. I've come to expect histories like thiers.
I like history. It "rocks".

Whenever a race is the victim of genocide, it's Holocaust in my opinion. Poor Jews. They had to suffer that twice now-not including the Biblical Days.

well...yeah. That's what leaders who want religious unity tend to do. It's wrong, but it did make Spain a naiton state. Besides, they got their just desserts in the end.
