The Genius of Chistrianity

What did you think about Chateaubriand?

This guy had food named after him. How cool is that? Anyway, very similar to Thomas More in that his political career ended when he didn't agree with the king, but at least Chateaubriand didn't get his head cut off. How boring. :(

well, from what i've read that it was a good thing and that it restored order, important because he was a conservative. he saw the gothic churches as inducing a sense of awe, of the divine, and mystical experience, which was important to romanticists as it created emotion, wasn't rational or reasonable- backlash against enlightenment and sci rev.
