Parker, I hope you don't leave us. Your opinion is valid and appreciated. I was directing my comments at all involved.

The emigration patterns illustrate a couple things.
1. the industrial problems of east and south europe

2. the rise of racism in Germany

3. rise in urban slums in Germany, England, and US

What other ideas did i miss?

Germany is on the rise and opposing GB. With that, the discredited states such as France, Italy, Russia, and Austria are going to start picking sides. Hence WWI.

Taffe is important because he recognized thta there was no true answer to the ethnic problems, therefore he decided to end the fall as best as he could by recognizing the different ethnicities. Look at the Mayarization--was that any better or worse?

Good question malinda--was the social class system destroyed--a conservative would say heck yeah--education is given to everyone; a liberal may say no way--the education is based on middle class values, hence it is only another way to create an industrial caste system

Now that I totally confused the answer is yes/no.

Really enjoyed today's class...a little too much "extra" talk sometimes, but great to see the gray matter getting a work out. Heck, it was all I could do to not jump in.
Question to Was:
After the "irrational" discussion as a means to gain attention to your cause, do you see a correlation between the increase in media speed (word of mouth to newspaper to telegraph to radio to tv to internet) and the willingness to sacrifice oneself for a cause. In other words, if no one knew what you had done, what would be the point.

The mass media we have truly is a driving force for the terrorists in the Middle East. This allows them to act irrational and still be mainstream media. Our media is much like our politics--driven by the emotions of the masses. I do not think either is good.
