What about women?
In class we argued the negative aspect of women. But what about the great opportunities granted to them? What about Blackwell's first steps (even though a man's mistake) led to women doctors? What about the suffrage movement? Equal Rights?
We will argue the lower pay for women later. I won't lie, the statistics used to "prove" their points of exploitation in today's market place are skewed. I will explain later.

I don't know if I'm doing this right or smart enough to be doing this, but I have a few comments to say about the women's movement. I can honestly say that men were skeptical about women being in the workplace. Blackwell was admitted by mistake, but stayed because of her skill. I think that women struggled and climbed a "steep ladder" to get where they were toward the 1900's.
As for the 2nd I.R. women were given the low waged white-collar, instead of the hard working factory jobs, so it is the same until men decide that the want women with them which will probably come in the early 1900's.

Why do you think minorities always face persecution? This goes to our discussion on Friday.
