1989 and Its Ramifications
As stated in class, the year of miracles was an exciting event to live through. The once feared Soviet Union began to implode, creating a new wave of nationalism throughout East Europe. Democracies were recreated after 50 years of communist rule. The emotions ran deep as George H.W. Bush imagined a New World Order.
Unfortunately, by 1992, this dream unraveled and a new sense of fear began to sweep across the globe, climaxing on 9/11/01.
Name two or three of these negative events and explain their results on the psyche of the new wave of globalism.
